The Throat Chakra and the Health of Your Energy Body!

Jul 2, 2020 | Chakras, Energy, Health Tips, Thyroid

Hi Friends!  Thanks for sticking with us as we navigate the Chakras.  We think that it is important to consider how energy and emotions can affect the body.  This is just one reason we’re going through the seven major Chakras– they are examples of our energy/emotional body in motion!  These principles can apply to our internal and external world.

This week we are taking a look at the Throat Chakra.  This is an incredibly important Chakra because it is all about being able to know and speak our personal truth!  The purpose of this weeks tip is to help get you MORE in tune with your personal truth.  Read on to learn about the energy that surrounds this process and area of the body.

Chakras (Quick Review)

Chakras (Sanskrit for wheel or cycle) are energetic centers that are located in the mid-line of the body along the spinal column.  These energy centers are derived from eastern philosophies such as Hinduism and Buddhism.  They govern the subtle body which is affected by the mind, intellect, and ego.  The body will thrive emotionally, physically, and spiritually when the Chakras are energetically balanced.  Specific negative life experiences, emotions or thoughts can throw off the subtle body and chakras may become blocked or imbalanced.

According to this eastern philosophy, blockages can have a negative effect on the physical or emotional body and can cause physical/emotional ailments or dis-ease.  These ailments may arise when specific chakras become blocked or imbalanced.  Each chakra is associated with a specific color, area of the body or specific organs, as well as specific feelings/emotions.  Learning about each chakra will help gain a deeper understanding of the unique energies and how they affect the health of your body!

Throat Chakra- Vishuddhi

The Throat Chakra is called Vishuddha in Sanskrit.  This means ‘to purify’.  It is also known as the ‘purification center’.  This area of the body harnesses a voice for honest expression. On a physical level, it’s the throat, but on an energetic level, this chakra allows you to speak your deepest truth with clarity and conviction.  It governs the words we choose to express our personal truth.  The words we use can have tremendous power in our lives as well as in the lives of others.

In order to keep this chakra aligned and flowing with positive energy use your heart chakra as a filter for what words would be best to use before you speak them.  This can also apply for the words we choose to express on less formal platforms like on social media.  You can ask questions like, is what I am about to say represent MY personal truth?  Is my personal truth needed or helpful? You can also use your intuition or your Third Eye Chakra as a filter too, which we will discuss next week.

Both of these tools are a way of accessing the Holy Spirit within you–a valuable God/Source given tool that will help act as a guide for self expression.  The idea is to take a quick and necessary pause before you express your personal truth.  This can make a world of difference in your life, your body, and in others lives as well.

Throat Chakra when Balanced, Blocked, or Excessive

When the throat chakra is in balance a person will feel contentment, be centered in the present, have a good sense of timing or awareness of time, can be a good speaker, have a pleasant voice, be a good communicator, be musically or artistically inspired, be expressive and prolific, have an understanding of spiritual concepts, have an ability to meditate or experience Divine Energy.

When the throat chakra is deficient or blocked a person may be timid, overly quiet, inconsistent, unreliable, loses track of time, devious, inability to express emotions well, be nervous.  And lastly, when the throat chakra has excessive energy a person may be self righteous, be overly talkative, be dogmatic or overly religious, have addictive tendencies, and possibly be dominating

In Conclusion

We live in a time where we are bombarded by TOO MUCH information coming at us from everywhere we look and go.   It is imperative that we take our time to ask deeper questions.  Is this information beneficial to me?  Does it align with my personal truth?  Does it in align with my intuition?  Remain curious.  This will help turn thoughts and words into conversations rather than arguments.  This is where a healthy deep understanding of self and the world around you is BORN and EXPRESSED.

Here is another helpful guided meditation for the Throat Chakra to help ease the mind and access the energy of the throat. Prayer is always helpful too.  Ask your creator to help guide you to your personal truth and it will be given.

As always, do what you feel is best for YOUR body — if you aren’t sure, ask your doctor.  We are health ENTHUSIASTS not licensed practitioners.
